I am pleased to announce that I opened my new office in North Bennington on April 28, 2008. Although I have chosen to move, I am grateful for the ten years that I have worked with Bennington Family Practice. I will miss my colleagues there very much.
As I make this move, I am working to improve the way I provide care. My new office will be both personal and high-tech: I will be available to you in the office or by pager 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with rare exceptions. In addition to scheduled appointments, I will have walk-in time in the morning and same-day appointments each day. There will be no staff, only me, your doctor, working to provide you with holistic, reliable, and sustainable health care. In order to provide you with this direct access, I will use support from the internet, email and other computer systems. In developing these these innovations I have been working with The Ideal Medical Practices Project.

I know that working on the Internet is comfortable for some of you. For others, I will be dragging you, perhaps kicking and screaming, into the digital age. The library has computers available and, if you need help, the librarian can show you how to work them. Soon, there will also be a computer in the waiting room at my office for patients to use when the office is open.
My patients at Bennington Family Practice should have received three forms in the mail, a registration form, a records release, and a signature page. Please review my policies before completing the signature page. You may email me at averywoodmd@onebox.net if you have any questions. These forms should be returned to me in the envelope provided. I will then send you a scheduling code. Your chart will be moved to my new office just before I open.
